Full of useful techniques and insights on traditional illustration techniques from a golden era of illustration that are rarely taught in the classroom anymore, Mike's book is a valuable resource.And what's even better is that these methods have been updated to take full advantage of digital painting as well.An awesome bonus is an oil painting illustration step-by-step by Mike's talented wife Davin Chea-Butkus.Like I said in my review of his Zombie book (also a great book, by the way) it doesn't matter what level you're at or whether you want to draw "vampires" or "fairy godmothers" or "vampires eating fairy godmothers"...this book is for anyone who loves to draw.

Buy this book and Mike's Zombie book as well.For roughly a dime a page, you get some absolutely incredible instruction, tons of inspiration, and a lot of fun.
