(More customer reviews)This is an intensely spiritual book, not unlike the works of Herman Hesse. The author weaves his story through various states of consciousness: dreams, mystic insights, and near death experiences. The quality of the prose is superb. The author is a master of the English language. As a professor of philosophy, I found his metaphors about the ineffable nature of life to be profound. The final sequence lands like a blow to the solar plexis, followed by a knock out blow to the head.Absolutely incredible for a first novel!
