(More customer reviews)This was my first Harlequin romantic suspense, and I absolutely loved it.
I had no idea what to expect from this book - it comes packaged as your typical trashy romance, but it is anything but that.
Matt is a wonderful character. While conducting surveillance to find his missing partner he finds Kresley - unconscious and badly injured - on a beach. She becomes his best lead, but the FBI agent is determined to help her for personal reasons too. Kresley witnessed something terrible that night, and barely escaped with her life. As they piece her memories together they have to keep her in hiding - both from those trying to kill her, and from the authorities who want to arrest her for crimes she did not commit.
The story could easily have fallen into all kinds of clichés, but it never does. Kresley is strong and absolutely determined to save herself, worried that she will drag Matt into dangerous situations. Matt is an alpha male with some differences, and Kresley - though feminine and pretty - is not your typical damsel in distress.
The leading characters are wonderful together, their romance develops believably, and there is an exciting story packed-full of excitement. The plot never takes a back seat to the romance - the two aspects of the story urge each other along.
I've been on the lookout for more from Kelsey Roberts, but there are slim pickings. This is one author whose work I will be following with great interest.

Product Description:
FBI agent Matt DeMarco never thought his morning jog on the beach would draw him into a ring of cold-blooded killers. Or that one of the murder suspects would be the stunning half-conscious woman he found washed up on the beach...dressed in an evening gown and dripping blood."Trust no one" was all she remembered. But as her memory of that night came back, so did an overwhelming fear and the feeling that she was in serious danger. With nowhere else to turn, she had to trust Matt with her life. And in an unguarded moment, he seemed willing to trust her with his darkest secret. But how long could they keep their mutual lust in check?
