(More customer reviews)Allen has outdone herself with The Polynesian Tattoo Today. Primarily, this is a picture book full of crisp, clear pictures of amazing art, accompanied by short captions with information on the cultural style, the artist and (where available) the wearer of all the art.
But wait- there's more! At the end of the book is a series of artist profiles, focusing on the artists who have the most work displayed in the book. Primarily, these artists are native to Polynesia, though many cultures and nationalities are represented.
Following that, is an index with artist contact information, and page numbers to their work in the body of the text. This means that you can find a piece you like, look up the artists, look at what else they have in the book, and then contact them.
Overall, this book is an excellent image collection representing the best and widest spectrum of Polynesian and Polynesian-style tattoo today.
